Mammoth
Mountain is unquestionably one of the finest Alpine Skiing Mountains
in the world. An average of over 353 inches of snow falls onto the
11,053 foot summit, making the entire 3,500 acres of skiable terrain
enjoyable for all. Choose from heart-pumping steep chutes, wide open
bowls, tree skiing, bumps, gullies, or wide open, well groomed, intermediate
and beginner trails. For the beginner, Mammoth offers private, group
and family lessons including special programs, Children's Ski School,
Senior Ski Camps, and snowboard lessons. 70% sunny days means more
time skiing and less time sitting in the lodge. |
| What's
new for Y2K? A number of major projects are being completed including
a new Panorama Gondola system, expanded snowmaking, and another high-speed
quad! The completion of the Panorama Gondola project concludes a two-year
project of renovating Mammoth's existing gondola. The new gondola
will carry eight passengers to the Mid Station or the Summit. |

Snowmaking
capabilities have been expanded near the Canyon Lodge, helping to
guarantee an early opening. Beginners will get a quick lift from the
Discovery Chair, a high-speed detachable quad that replaced chairs
11 and 27. With the addition of the Discovery Chair, Mammoth now has
eight high-speed detachable quads. |
